Upon feeling the initial call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ when he was nine years old, even before his salvation, Jerry began to read and study the Bible with fervency. When he was saved at seventeen, he began helping the youth minister at his church, teaching whenever the minister was unable to attend the Wednesday night youth meetings.

After moving to Illinois and preaching in tent revivals, churches, and on the streets, also teaching in a small Bible institute associated with the church he was attending, Jerry was asked to become one of the associate pastors of the church. While serving there, Jerry was part of the worship team as well as a regular part of the pulpit ministry.

Since moving back to Oklahoma, Jerry has begun Red River Ministries, through which he is the host and Bible teacher of Ancient Words, a Bible teaching podcast. Jerry has also written helpful Bible study books and a catechism for helping to teach those who are young in the faith.
